Hey, some people want to learn Spanish just for fun. Others want to learn it for travel, love, or money.
Either way, you gotta start somewhere, and that somewhere is on Saturday Night Live (SNL).
Bad Bunny does the SNL monologue in English and Spanish. He references Sábado Gigante, a variety show that’s tons of fun in short takes or over the long haul.
El puertorriqueño (pwetter-toad-deek-KEN-yo) plays the role of Tía (TEE-ah) in Protective Mom 2. The sketch is in Spanish and English. It reminds me of ¿Qué Pasa USA?, the first Spanish-English sitcom.
Spanish and English subtitles appear in another SNL skit, The Age of Discovery. Mikey Day and Fred Armisen play explorers who return to Spain with some splainin’ to do to the king (Bad Bunny) and the prince (Marcello Hernández). Why didn’t the sea travelers take the long way around to China? This is comedy gold.
No matter which route you take to learning Spanish or what your goals are, contact somebunny who’ll listen.
